Oasis of Peace UK (British Friends of Neve Shalom ~ Wahat al Salam)We are one of twelve Friends Associations in Europe and North America who believe in the aims of Neve Shalom ~ Wahat al-Salam (NSWaS) and give it our wholehearted support. Our vision embraces NSWaS's ideals of justice and equality, and respect for religious, ethnic, cultural and national difference. ^top Our Mission Our mission is to support Neve Shalom ~ Wahat al-Salam's (NSWaS) schools and educational programmes (listed below) financially, and to raise public awareness and support in the UK of NSWaS (the Village and its institutions) and the values for which it stands. Our activities in the UK include awareness and fundraising events - concerts, presentations and lectures, sponsored walks. We also bring over residents of NSWaS to visit schools and colleges in the UK, and to give presentations at a variety of venues throughout the country.
We are supported by grant-making Trusts and Foundations, by generous and concerned individuals as well as by religious and secular institutions. We arrange an annual accompanied visit to NSWaS, with an interesting programme that includes a dialogue workshop organised by the School for Peace. ^top PatronsWe have a distinguished list of Patrons: - Ahlam Akram

Neve Shalom ~ Wahat al-Salam, situated in a beautiful, rural landscape mid-way between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, is the first community to be established where Jewish and Palestinian Israeli citizens live together. It was founded in the early 1970s by Father Bruno Hussar and Anne Le Meignen, and since those early days is home for 60 Jewish, Christian and Muslim families. Plans are underway for a further 90 homes, with hundrreds of Jewish and Palestinian Israel citizens on the waiting list.
NSWaS welcomes hundreds of young people and adults every year, educating them in the values of peace, conflict theory and ways to lead a more respectful and understanding life for Palestinians and Jews.
In addition to its educational institutions, the Village's 39-room Guesthouse offers hospitality to hundreds of visitors annually. With its outdoor swimming pool that is open in the summer months, it is an ideal destination for families and well situated for touring central and south Israel. Check the visitors' programme.
